Bioracer, a clothing supplier in the service of athletes, has been providing cycling gear for incredible athletes and Olympic champions for decades now. If Manon felt the need to call on us, it's because we share the same values : the search for performance and speed, and just like the champions we work with, she also wants the highest level of performance possible.
Accompanying enthusiasts and professionals was essential for her ! Manon saw the opportunity to strive a little more towards her goal in Bioracer : to become even faster and more efficient on her bike, and to obtain the best results possible during the competitions. That's why the French triathlete wanted to work with us !
Manon came to us with the aim of designing her future new triathlon outfit and she visited us on two days, on July 31st and August 1st to learn more about us, and to discuss directly with the design and aerodynamics professionals, as well as to know our production process, products and most importantly, to draw conclusions and benefits of her experience at the Speed Center and the wind-tunnel.
After visiting Bioracer headquarters in Tessenderlo in its entirety, Manon was able to discover and be interested in our Speed Center that is equipped with Bioracer Motion Bioracer Aero systems. A Speed Center offers cyclists the best services to improve their comfort and performance.
Bioracer Motion is an integrated Speed Center system that provides instant, detailed insights and analysis of the athlete's pedaling movements. Thanks to this system, we can study and improve everyone's cycling position to make them faster and avoid injuries. In addition, to be even more efficient, the Bioracer Aero system was created to help athletes find the most efficient position possible to save watts and save time.
These two programs led Bioracer to create the " Individual " service that allows anyone to be treated like a professional and get the best possible service. Manon was able to perform a few initial tests at the speed center to get a first glimpse of her cycling position during a race situation.
Thereafter, Manon and one of our designers worked together to create the design of her future triathlon outfit. Manon already had a clear picture of what she was looking for, which allowed them to work effectively and achieve the desired result in a short time.
On the second day, Manon was able to work on her biking position in the morning. The tests made it possible to draw the following conclusion : by moving the seat back a few centimeters, Manon gained comfort, which allowed not to gain aerodynamics but power and consequently the speed. This is what is most important in the end. For Manon, this change of seat position has been and should be the most efficient change in winnings.
In the afternoon, she headed towards Bikevalley, a wind-tunnel that is located two kilometers away from Bioracer. Her aim was to find out which outfit was best for her at high speed and how many watts different gear allowed her to save in order to boost her chances of winning in the race.
Eventually, only the future trainings and especially the next races will tell us how much the advice of Bioracer and its experts were useful for Manon.
However, some results are already identifiable : Bioracer Motion and Bioracer Aero's work on the cycling position, which was carried out at the Speed Center will allow Manon to ride aerodynamically but in a much more comfortable position than it was before.
More comfort, more power deployed in a longer time, an obvious potential gain.
Finally, in terms of watts saved, wind-tunnel tests have shown that the most efficient, aerodynamic outfit for our athlete was the “Speedmaster Triathlon Kit,” which saves 13 watts compared to our classic triathlon outfit. In addition, wearing our Speedwear aerodynamic sleeves is a source of a significant gain of 5 watts. It’s essential to gain a few seconds at the end of the race.
Born on June 26, 1989 in La Rochelle, Manon Genet is now a French professional triathlete. Being a daughter of marathon parents, Manon started running at the age of 16, after about ten years in gymnastics alternating with cycling and swimming.
Manon was a student in business school. However, she couldn't escape her destiny and she eventually ended up engaging 100% in sports practices a few years after finishing her studies, during which she practiced amateur triathlon, to finally become a professional in 2017. She says she prefers the cycling part of the race, where she does her best and catches up with her rivals.
